Ok, so you are looking to get your car windows tinted – but how do you know you have found somebody who is Reputable? , Experienced? , Is going to deliver the job to your satisfaction?

tom rear 300x225 What to look for in your window tinter?Ok, firstly, you have to consider the price you are prepared to pay versus what your expectations are…we all know that you buy cheap you buy twice on a lot of occasions, so you get your windows tinted very cheaply, then after the job has dried out, you notice lots of imperfections in the installation…this is normally caused by bad film handling and cleaning…but very occasionally can be caused by water contamination – ie. the solution use to install the product has a high content of dirt…that’s down to the water company.
We source our own treated water as I don’t trust the tap water…90% it’s fine but that 10% can cause problems which I can do without.

experience can be measured in a couple of ways really…I have been involved with vehicles for 25 years now (showing my age here!), and have a broad range of experience in which gives me confidence to do my job! , however, I have seen jobs from people who may have been on a window tinting course but prior to this they were say..a piano tuner or a butcher. Would you really trust these guys ? They might know when middle C is out of tune or can make a nice juicy sausage…but can they remove your window or door panel without damage if that’s what needed to get the best level of finish on your car? Of course you wouldn’t trust them!!! But to save a few pounds, you might risk it!

I once paid a decorator to do some work whilst I was away on holiday, he told me how he had been doing this job for 20+ years, he was the best…and he wasn’t cheap…but on return from holiday I wasn’t impressed! he had missed lost of areas, not prepared surfaces properly etc…now, my expectations were maybe a little higher than he expected, for little Mrs smith around the corner who is blind as a bat it would have been perfect, but for me, someone who has an eye for detail, I spotted all the flaws in his work!

So thats why I try to aim for perfection every time, I know I never reach it as there is no such thing as a perfect tint job and as there is only one person I know who is perfect…and he’s not a window tinter! But I always aim get as close to perfect as I can.
