Woah…now this guy is something else!

Posted on Wednesday, December 15th, 2010 at 11:08 pm and is filed under Blog.

Prepare yourself…this guy called Sam came to see me with his car, he had taken it to a local tint shop and was really naffed off with the job! It did look a mess to be fair, he didn’t want to tell me who had done the job so I am still in the dark on that one.

I sorted him out and as I do asked if he was willing to give me a testimonial, he promised he would do a video version, I was really shocked when he e mailed me the file.

Check it out for yourselves here below:-

What to look for in your window tinter?

Ok, so you are looking to get your car windows tinted – but how do you know you have found somebody who is Reputable? , Experienced? , Is going to deliver the job to your satisfaction?

tom rear 300x225 What to look for in your window tinter?Ok, firstly, you have to consider the price you are prepared to pay versus what your expectations are…we all know that you buy cheap you buy twice on a lot of occasions, so you get your windows tinted very cheaply, then after the job has dried out, you notice lots of imperfections in the installation…this is normally caused by bad film handling and cleaning…but very occasionally can be caused by water contamination – ie. the solution use to install the product has a high content of dirt…that’s down to the water company.
We source our own treated water as I don’t trust the tap water…90% it’s fine but that 10% can cause problems which I can do without.

experience can be measured in a couple of ways really…I have been involved with vehicles for 25 years now (showing my age here!), and have a broad range of experience in which gives me confidence to do my job! , however, I have seen jobs from people who may have been on a window tinting course but prior to this they were say..a piano tuner or a butcher. Would you really trust these guys ? They might know when middle C is out of tune or can make a nice juicy sausage…but can they remove your window or door panel without damage if that’s what needed to get the best level of finish on your car? Of course you wouldn’t trust them!!! But to save a few pounds, you might risk it!

I once paid a decorator to do some work whilst I was away on holiday, he told me how he had been doing this job for 20+ years, he was the best…and he wasn’t cheap…but on return from holiday I wasn’t impressed! he had missed lost of areas, not prepared surfaces properly etc…now, my expectations were maybe a little higher than he expected, for little Mrs smith around the corner who is blind as a bat it would have been perfect, but for me, someone who has an eye for detail, I spotted all the flaws in his work!

So thats why I try to aim for perfection every time, I know I never reach it as there is no such thing as a perfect tint job and as there is only one person I know who is perfect…and he’s not a window tinter! But I always aim get as close to perfect as I can.

I know we think we are over the worst of the winter weather now, but in reality we never know in this country of ours when we will be blessed with any good weather.

To make things a little easier when out on the road I strongly recommend an application od Aquapel to your windscreen.

Aquapel is applied to the windscreen and is a real blessing in winter. One application can last upto 6 months.

daydemo I can see clearly now!

Aquapel:-
* Repels rain for remarkably improved vision
* Makes it easier to clear ice, snow and even dirt
* Reduces glare in the rain, especially at night
* Helps reduce water marks and keeps down salt water

We are offering a free application of Aquapel with all window film installs booked through our social medial channels of Facebook and Twitter.

Ooohh…my arms are feelin it!

I installed some Coolkote film to the roof of a conservatory today – it’s a 2 man job so I drafted The WIzard in to give me a hand – and he was awesome!!

We really kicked the job – a nice clean install that the customer will love in both the the summer and winter.

CoolKote
conservatory Ooohh...my arms are feelin it!

YOUR CONSERVATORY IS A VERY EFFECTIVE HEAT TRAP…
The same could be said of rooflights in factories. As the sun blazes down on the roof, the temperature goes through it! In recent summers mid-afternoon heat can be unbearable for you, your family or staff and even your plants!

NO EFFECTIVE ANSWER TO THE STIFLING HEAT BUILD-UP…
Until now, there was no effective solution to this problem. Roller and pleated roof blinds provide shade, but can attract dust and insects, and are difficult to clean, whilst the heat still penetrates the fabric, which then filters through to the interior.

CoolKote …HOW IT WORKS
CoolKote is a high-performance metalized PVC coating, which when applied to polycarbonate or glass roofs prevents heat building up simply by reflecting the suns heat away before it can be transmitted inside. Glare is also significantly reduced, enabling reading, watching TV, working- or just relaxing!

CoolKote …SOLVES PROBLEMS
You will benefit from an immediate reduction in internal daytime temperatures and less glare, whilst an ultra-violet barrier helps prevent fading and sun damage to furnishings. CoolKote is inexpensive, effective and is applied quickly, cleanly and with the minimum of disruption to your existing polycarbonate or glass roof by members of a national network of highly trained professional installers.

COOLKOTE- REDUCES HEAT BUILD-UP IN CONSERVATORIES AND INDUSTRIAL PREMISES
For use on polycarbonate and glass
Ultra-violet barrier- helps prevent fading and sun damage to furnishings
Reduces glare- to add even more comfort
Unique high-performance metalized PVC coating for roofs and rooflights
Less expensive and more effective than blinds
Clean and quick installation with a minimum of disruption and no maintenance
Up to 10 years warranty

Range Rover – ECU Remap and Window Tinting

This is Alex’s Range Rover Vogue.
al rr vog 300x175 Range Rover ECU Remap and Window TintingAlex was a little underwhelmed with the performance of this V8 Diesel – this is where we stepped in with one of our custom ECU remaps.
We recommended one of our economy ECU remaps – giving him an extra 40bhp and 85Nm of torque – this was instantly noticeable on our test drive – steady now Alex!

We also installed some LLumar ATC 5% window film to complete the transformation…

You can achieve good fuel savings when you choose our economy ECU remaps – as long as you take it easy with the old right boot!!

Saab 9-3 Window Tinting

Posted on Sunday, September 27th, 2009 at 3:48 pm and is filed under Blog, Saab Window Tinting.

Here we have a Saab 9-3.

This customer decided to choose our new Premium Film – Llumar Avantgarde.
This film offers almost 50% more heat rejection than our regular ATC film. This is achieved by the use of ceramics in the manufacturing process.

The shade used on this car is the 15% one.

Typically, this upgrade costs around 20% more than a standard installation but will really come into it’s own when “The heat is on!”
